RipStopByTheRoll presents OutdoorINK

OutdoorINK is custom printed outdoor fabric and materials. It’s taking what used to be available in brown, green, and black and opening it to your imagination, where pretty much anything is possible. With that said, I’m excited to share what we’ve been working on.

Printed Fabric
At present we have a stock library of patterns on the site. Most of these were designed in-house custom by us (thanks Justin). You can check those out here:

OutdoorINK printed fabric -> https://ripstopbytheroll.com/collections/outdoorink-printed-fabric

The cool thing about this is that each order is printed on-demand, meaning that it’s printed custom, just for you. We also don’t outsource the printing or anything like that. Everything is done in-house by us – our team, our equipment, our process. This means better product and lower prices for you. Period.

I should also point out that with print on-demand you get maximum flexibility in the amount of fabric you order. Unlike our standard fabrics, all OutdoorINK prints are available by the yard, fat-quarter, or swatch. This let’s you minimize waste and not spend anymore than you absolutely need to on a particular project

DIY Kits
Before we go any further, I’ll address the elephant in the room – PRICE. I know a lot of you may be thinking this is kind of expensive. Everything looks cool, but is it really worth roughly 3X the price of regular fabric???

Here’s the deal – I GET IT. If I were in your shoes, I’d be thinking the same thing. So how do you know it’s worth it? The answer I always give folks is that you HAVE TO SEE IT, and by see it, I mean actually get your hands on some fabric.

So to help with that, we’ve put together two pretty killer deals on some basic DIY kits to get you started. Here’s the scoop:

Double-Ended Stuff Sack Kit – https://ripstopbytheroll.com/products/outdoorink-double-ended-stuff-sack-kit

You can find full details on the site, but I’ll quickly summarize: You get SIX OutdoorINK printed double-ended stuff sack blanks plus all the components you need for $15 bucks. And we’re throwing in FREE shipping. If you’re doing the math, that’s $2.50 /sack.

APEX Pillow Kit – https://ripstopbytheroll.com/products/outdoorink-apex-pillow-kit

Quick summary – again for just $15 bucks, pick ANY OutdoorINK pattern, get all the necessary components, and we throw in FREE shipping. I made one of these just yesterday in Branch camo Burnt Orange. Beats the pants off the wal-mart special I was using before.

Both these kits are designed to be easy, low-budget projects for you to check out what OutdoorINK is all about

Where We’re Going

I wanted to quickly summarize where we’re headed…

New materials

At present we’re officially printing on a 1.6 oz polyester square grid ripstop (hammocks) and our Membrane15 taffeta (quilts). However, we have several more in development right now. One that a lot of people have asked about is Noseeum bug mesh. I’m happy to report that we now have that ready for release. It took a while to find the right noseeum to print on, but what we have now is really incredible. Look for that to be added to the material lineup VERY SOON.

Items in the pipeline – 3D mesh, pocket mesh, 200D pack fabric, and WEBBING. The testing on all of these is going well and we hope to start adding them to the lineup soon.

We will be posting more details and also gathering feedback from everyone as we go. Yes, you have a BIG say in what we ultimately make.

Custom Printing

We’ve been asked by hundreds of people about whether it would be possible to accept custom images or patterns for print (which is awesome btw). That being said, I wanted to go on record as saying that WE ARE actively WORKING on developing what’s needed to make this happen. I’m hoping to have at least something bare bones ready to go in the next few weeks. It might not be pretty, but hopefully it will be functional. Pretty can come later.

Additional Patterns

Our stock library is really nice and we will be adding some incredible stuff to that, trust me. However, the real crux behind OutdoorINK isn’t in us printing what we like, but in printing what YOU like. I’ll save details on this for later, but just to get it out there, we are working on a couple different solutions to MASSIVELY expand the the selection of patterns made available to you. Stay tuned for some exciting news on that.
