POTW: Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness – Mark Lansink

Porch Mode — release the cordage from the Dutch Fleaz and in a few seconds you’re hunker’d down as is or snap the doors shut.

Mark Lansink writes

Just spent 4 nights in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) of Northern Minnesota with this setup. Love the versatility of enjoying sunny days and thunderstorm evenings (which is exactly what we had each of the 4 days/nights)

Being able to go from Porch Mode to Oh Shit it’s blowing rain in seconds is worth the internal pole mode price !!! The internal space created also is cavernous!

I’ve been going to the BWCA since 1990 and have switched to hanging for the past 2 years. Never going back to tents !! Also been doing the #12Nights challenge and hanging at least 1 night / month year round. Going on 14 months and counting. Lowest temp so far was +5 degF w/o a problem.
